02 / 09FOREFRONT CONSULTING · PRODUCT ENGAGEMENT2025

An AI-assisted performance platform taken from working prototype to production blueprint.

A prototype and delivery plan for digitizing Forefront's five-area career-development framework and supporting continuous, AI-assisted employee development.

Product engagement addressing fragmented employee review processes

Challenge

Forefront's career-development framework was managed through paper forms, PDFs and personal documents, limiting engagement outside annual reviews. The firm needed to test a digital alternative and understand what production-grade delivery would require.

My contribution

I built a React and Supabase prototype for core review and development workflows, then translated the concept into a PRD with 32 functional and 12 non-functional requirements, a four-epic roadmap and a proposed Next.js production architecture.

Approach

Mapped employee, manager and administrator workflows around role-specific competencies, reviews and Forefront's five development areas: competence, delivery, leadership, sales and culture.

Prototyped ratings, goal-setting, progress tracking and AI-assisted coaching workflows in React and Supabase, using Lovable for schema iteration and Claude Code for the working prototype.

Defined a serverless target architecture using Next.js, Supabase Row-Level Security, EU-region infrastructure and proposed OpenAI API integration through Supabase Edge Functions, with explicit plans for GDPR, accessibility, testing and scale.

Outcome

Forefront received a working prototype and a decision-ready path to production, including defined product scope, phased delivery, technical architecture and the operational requirements for further investment.

Deliverables

  • Working React and Supabase prototype
  • Complete PRD with 44 requirements
  • Four-epic development roadmap
  • Proposed production architecture
